Comfort and Convenience

To provide the frail and/or handicapped person the autonomy and support necessary to attain and maintain the highest level of physical, mental and psychosocial well being possible.

Information

Pine Lane Estates East is composed of 29 apartments. Pine Lane Estates West is composed of 24 apartments. They all include at a minimum their own bathroom, living space, and refrigerator and microwave. Each unit is unique in size and cost.

The apartments need to be furnished by the resident to include at a minimum a bed, bedside stand, and a chair appropriate to the resident's needs. Furniture must be clean and in good repair and meet the approval of the administration. The apartments may be decorated with the resident's personal items to achieve a home-like setting.

Cable TV and telephone hookups are available to each apartment. Cable costs $15.00 per month and telephone costs $28.00 per month if they are desired by the resident.

Admission

Prior to admission the prospective resident will be visited by the assisted living center nurse-either in their home or at the facility. The assisted living center staff will meet the resident and family member(s) prior to admission to obtain information needed for admissibility guidelines. The staff will discuss the resident and determine his/her acceptance to the facility. The family and resident will be notified regarding this decision.

Pine Lane Estates reserves the right to monitor the hygiene of persons and apartments so as not to allow the existence of a health or safety hazard and to insist on Home Health Care Services to meet these needs or to recommend discharge as is appropriate under our criteria for admission and stay.

Should an involuntary termination of tenancy be necessary for reasons opposing assisted living criteria, such as inappropriate behavior or excessive health needs, the director and nurse together will provide intervention as necessary and assist with the discharge.

Any assisted living resident who requests a move to a skilled nursing facility will be transferred to the facility of the resident's choice. In the event of discharge, the director will be available to assist with this process.

An assisted living resident suffering from a temporary illness such as flu, colds, or non-serious injury may remain in their apartment as they recover. It would be expected that recovery period would not exceed 3 weeks. Meal trays will be provided during recovery time.

Care

A personal care attendant will be available for assistance with health and safety needs 24 hours per day. They are aware at all times how to contact a nurse in case of a question or an emergency. The administrator of the facility will provide supervision of the personal care attendant. Attendant coverage will be accomplished in shifts from 7am-3pm, 3pm-11pm, and 11pm-7am.

Each resident will be equipped with a call-light to use in case of an emergency or when needing assistance. The attendant will provide assistance to residents in maintaining a safe environment by keeping walkways free of obstacles, monitoring for unsafe practices, and assisting with activities of daily living such as bathing, dressing, personal hygiene and nail care, and escorting to meals.

Housekeeping

The attendant will remove trash from apartments on a weekly basis (daily if trash is known to contain odor-producing materials). The attendant will clean apartments on a weekly basis. This will consist of vacuuming, dusting, mopping, wiping down bathrooms, and washing bedding and laundry.

Meals

Pine Lane Estates serves three meals per day that are prepared according to our dietician approved menus. In addition to the meals, we serve snacks in the afternoon and the evening and the attendants offer drinks off of our juice cart two times per day to ensure proper hydration. Pine Lane can accommodate doctor ordered therapeutic diets as well. Our dietician monitors all of our residents on therapeutic diets to make certain they are receiving proper nutrition.

Other

In addition to the above mentioned items, Pine Lane's campus is equipped with indoor fitness areas, resident parking and garages, an on-site beauty salon, and beautifully manicured walkways complete with a gazebo and benches to rest on.
